Group Play

Informal play arranged among club members for casual ongoing regularly scheduled doubles games at all levels of play. Invitations to play are facilitated by the group members.

Amigo’s

The Amigos have been around since June 2011. Tom Reed, Ray Catalano, Steve Owens, Will Smith, and Charlie Reinert started the men’s group. The intention was to have a competitive, but friendly tennis group.  The name for the group was suggested by Pat Owens (Steve’s wife) and was chosen after a vote by all of the players.  Perfect fit for this group. 

There are about 50 players with the Amigos and you’ll need an invitation to join the group.  The player must be able to compete at a minimal 3.5 level and be approved by the current board. 

The majority of the players are at the 3.0 and 3.5 levels.  The group plays all year round on multiple days of the week and sometimes uses up to six courts.   

The longest-standing members of the group are Will Smith, Dale Taylor, Mike Getz, Bob Engelhardt, Philip Horowitz, Ben Evans, Dan Schimmelpfennig, Randy McConaughey, Salim Zia, Dan Tyryfter, and me.
